Companies I Recommend

I get asked all the time what companies I recommend and which services I prefer for running my business, brainstorming, speaking, writing books, and mind mapping.

So I will start listing them on this page with links for you to follow. Please let me know if you too are happy with a company I recommended or, if not, let me know that, too.

An interesting conversation and web site

24 hour innovation discussion coming up May 15 and 16.

Mind Mapping Favorites

This is much harder to choose because I buy just about every one of the mind mapping programs and have found that each has something unique.

The one I use the most consistently is Novamind Novamind™ has been working extraordinarily well for me and always creates a mind map that I can display in powerpoint, keynote, word, pages, and in the text for my books. You can choose to export it in every possible form I know exists to date. It was developed in Australia and is very international in flavor. The books that the founder has written are excellent. He cares about helping education and one of his books, Teacher's Guide to Mind Mapping is so well written and has so many terrific insights that I have more than 25 highlight flags sticking out of my copy of the book.

Concept Draw™

Concept Draw™ is a relatively new product. Mind mapping is more of a tool for developing ideas, brainstorming, and exploring topics. I especially like the ability to choose 'brainstorm' and then just type words as fast as possible. They set a timer based on your choice so that the pressure of thinking fast helps the brainstorm process. When you have to work fast it shuts down the part of your brain that usually doubts whether what you are writing is any good. Keep that part of your brain quiet and you will get many more and better results. Check ConceptDraw™ out here.

Imindmap™

Tony Buzan's contribution to computerized mind mapping came late in the game. I believe partly because he espouses using freehand and lots of colored pens. I too suggest that everyone start with a blank piece of paper, preferably placed horizontally, and lots of fun colors. I believe IMindmap from Tony Buzan is the easiest and quickest to learn. Try IMindMap.

MindManager

MindManager by MindJet is the most popular among businesses in the U.S. It has been available for a long time, runs on Windows and MAC systems. It is much more subdued in its colors and results. It was set up from the beginning to allow shared mind maps so even remote team members could add to, view, change, and apply the maps. Check it out at MindManager

Because of the many public and individual company seminars I do on a regular basis, there are many examples of companies that use the power brainstorming techniques. There are also organizations who have discovered the advantages of thinking diversity and mind-mapping as part of their business improvement. Some companies I recommend and who have agreed to be listed on my web site are linked below.
